Station 251, Union Fire Company, was dispatched to a vehicle fire at on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mount Laurel Township on Saturday, November 28th. Tender 2516 and Deputy Chief Plowman (2510) responded to assist the Mount Laurel Fire Department with their incident. A tractor-trailer struck the overpass at Creek Road and became fully involved following the collision. The driver was able to escape and units from throughout Burlington County responded to contain the damaging fire from both traffic on the highway and the overpass above. The Turnpike was completely closed southbound for the duration of the incident.
